Following a Railroad Track

I would like to say I went on an adventure today, but that doesn’t sound right. Technically everyday is an adventure. You either learn something new or do something new. I guess I could say I went hiking, but that doesn’t sound that exciting. So I went on an adventure today.

See I have a friend

We started off at a park in our town and then went to this railroad bridge. I had been to this railroad bridge before, but had never gone further down the tracks. Our plan was to follow the tracks and see where they led.

Being the person that I am we had our little picnic right away (I love food and I hadn’t eaten lunch). The picnic consisted of me eating my sandwich and then eating all the fortune cookie my friend brought as left overs from her graduation party. After eating we began to follow the railroad track. Which is when we made our first awesome discovery.
The deer we saw
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My friend noticed the deer crossing the railroad tack. It was one of those surreal moments that for whatever reason just took your breath away. Then left us both scrambling for our cameras.
Long road ahead

We kept following the tracks with me tripping along. I have no grace or balance, so every little rut and ditch is a new opportunity for me to trip. Eventually the tracks lead us to a somewhat busy road, so we turned back a little and followed a utility road (I think that is what you would call it).

Beautiful view

We followed this path along this gorgeous view. Walking between two lush green fields with all these plushy white cotton clouds floating around in the sky. Even with the sun beating down on our heads everything felt perfect. We then came to the end of the utility road, which meet up with a street.

We then backtracked to the railroad bridge. Feeling satisfied that we had accomplished something (even though it was just a walk). We walked back on the train track listening to Neon Indiana, Porcelain Raft, Gorillaz, and other awesome bands ( courtesy of my friends iPhone).
Love notes
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we arrived at the bridge to leave we found some burnt love note. It looked like someone had tried to burn a notebook and had obviously failed, hence us being able to find some of the still slightly intact pages. With that interesting find we went back to the park to go our separate ways. I don’t know about my friend, but I left thinking about the next adventure.
